Who we are
As a member of US table tennis you play in an active but also friendly club with about 100 mainly (former) student members.
The mission of our club is to be a competitive and recreational department of the University Sports Association (US), for table tennis at all levels, where conviviality and social activities are of paramount importance. The target group of the club are (former) students.
The mission for the coming years is described as follows: To offer accessible table tennis for students.
Training opportunities
On Monday evenings there is the possibility to play freely in the Amstelcampushal between 19:00 and 21:30. Of course, the canteen is still open afterwards to replenish the necessary fluids.
On Tuesday evenings there is the possibility to train and play freely in the Wethouder Duran hall in Diemen. The hall is open from 19:30. You can play freely until 22:30. The training of 1.5 hours starts at 20:15. The training is provided by Maurice Schulte.
On Thursday evenings there is the possibility to play freely in the Wethouder Duran hall in Diemen. The hall is open from 19:30. You can play freely until 23:00. This is the training evening of TTV Diemen, but we are welcome to use the hall to train as well.
On Friday evenings you can also play in the Amstelcampushal. From 19:45 to 22:45. On competition nights there is limited space for this, about 2 tables.
In addition to the possibility of training, you can participate in the competition of the NTTB. Currently 10 teams of US participate in different classes. The competition matches of the department usually take place during the week (home matches in ACH, at 20:00). The national teams play on Saturday (home matches in ACH, at 17:00).
What’s more?
However, being a US member means more than just training and playing competitively. Members organize the club championships, doubles championships, US Open, the legendary US weekend away, the TannUS tournament and other social activities every year. US table tennis also participates in the Dutch Championships, the class multi-events and other tournaments.
Every now and then the club magazine ‘How about US’ is published, containing in-depth interviews, quasi-scientific articles, announcements and notices, and a merciless gossip column.
Do you want to join US?
You can play with us 3 times without obligation to see if our club suits you. Come on Monday (Amstelcampushal) or Tuesday (Wethouder Duran hal in Diemen). There will always be other US members present to help you.
You can drop in spontaneously. If you let us know in advance when you are coming, we will make sure that someone is there to welcome you.: ustafeltennis@gmail.com
